Explore the world! *Maja Design*

With my girl leaving the nest for her study oversea in mind, I made these two suitcases.
She is on a journey to explore the world!!

I used the Vintage Autumn and Vintage Summer collection for this project.

I first started to paint the suitcases with watered ink.
The bleu paper is from the Summer collection, 1921 and
the brown paper is from the Autumn collection, No. VIII.
Distressed all the edges.
The metal embellishments are from Prima.

Group of different flowers:
The big white one is from 13Arts, the blue tulle one from Prima,
the lace one I found online and the small roses (which were white)
were painted with Shimmerz coloringz, Mama sings the Blues.

I cut the air balloon from the No.XIV sheet.

And a piece of an old neck lace for an extra touch.

The butterfly and the gears chipboard are from a Dutch online store, Scrap-Unlimited.
The butterfly got 2 coats of gesso and was a bit overheated  for a more textured effect.
The tiny fleur de lis is chipboard from Dusty Attic.

The gears were also painted with some watered black ink.

I punched some flowers from the No.VIII sheet and distressed the edges.

No. VIII and No. XIV

Shimmerz girl

Here she is...my Shimmerz mixed media girl!
A couple of months ago I made a dress form for my other Design Team, all with their lovely papers.
I really loved making it so I decided to make another for Shimmerz.
Here is my girl, filled with all of those gorgeous paints!!

This dress form had a fabric body which I first covered with kitchen paper towel and Mod Podge.
I glued down the chipboard gears and buttons.
All of this got 2 coats of gesso and after drying she was ready for all the paints!
Here are the colors I used:

Vibez: Razzle Dazzel Berry
Vibez: Grape Escape
Vibez: Jeni B Blue (my absolute favorite!)
Shimmerz: Sugar Plum
Shimmerz: Royal Purple
Shimmerz: Tickle Me Turquoise
Inklingz (pearl): Beets Me
Inklingz (metal): Tarnished Treasure

Here is a view from the right side.
The lovely lace trim was already on the dress form.

A view from the left side.

All the flowers were painted with all the Shimmerz paints also.

I found this large metal butterfly at a home decor store.
Give it a little touch with the Inklingz (metal), Tarnished Treasure

And her are some close-ups:

Some little touches with the Inklingz metal, Tarnished Treasure on the body .

Maja design clock

Hi there Maja friends!
It's my turn on the blog today and I want to share this clock with you today.
Found this clock at a local store (Action) and it just had to be altered! lol
For this project I used the Vintage Autumn Basics collection.

I did a bit of fussy cutting for the front of the clock, making sure the lovely lady stayed in tact.
The No.XVI clock sheet is perfect for some extra embellishments.

The beautiful papers on the sides.

Just love to add some kind of jewelry to my projects. Here I used a piece of a necklace.

The gorgeous big tulle flowers are from 13Arts.
I used the No.III sheet for the rolled roses.

The clocks from the No.XVI sheet.

The top of the clock with an arrangement of tulle and paper flowers.

Rolled two pieces of paper for an extra element on top.

Papers used: No.I, No.III, No.XVI.

Enjoy your day!

having a great time! *Shimmerz*

Ingrid here today with an altered alarm clock.
Had a lot of fun making this clock with a photo of hubby and me on our last vacation to Greece.
We had the best time and I thought this was a great way to remind us of our trip.

Skiathos (on the left bell) is the name of the gorgeous small island.
These Shimmerz colors were perfect to match the photo.

I started to cover up the clock with the small paper bills from our meals and drinks.
Used some Mod Podge to glue them down.
Once dry, I started to paint the clock with all the Shimmerz.

I used the following products:
Vibez: Jeni B Blue
Spritz: Truffle
Spritz: Treasured Hymn
Dazzelerz: Gummy Berry Blue
Shimmerz: Antique Lace
Shimmerz: Butter Cream
Shimmerz: Tickle me turquoise
Inklingz: Tarnished Treasure

These metal embellishments got a touch of some gesso first and when dry,
some of the Inklingz, Tanished Treasure.

All the chipboard is from Dusty Attic and they only got a coat of gesso.

After all the paints, I randomly dabbed some gesso using a kitchen sponge.

Of course all my flowers were painted with Shimmerz.
A great and easy way for matching colors.

Hope you all will have a great time playing with Shimmerz!
If you place an order, remember to mention my name during check out,
and you will get a FREE sample of your color choice!

Enjoy your day!
